Graduate or Get Out - Part One

The Great Education Plan Push

The State Legislature doesn’t trust students to know what to do each term or know how to finish at CCSF.  Beginning Fall 2014 all new CCSF students are required to have an Educational Plan from a counselor stating a goal and having a plan of classes to achieve that goal.  This leaves little time to explore majors or career paths.

It doesn’t matter that most 17 year olds have no clue about what they want to do vocationally or educationally when they first arrive on campus. (Or, most adults!)

No doubt continuing students will soon be forced to have an education plan mapping out their remaining terms with a clearly stated goal of a certificate-degree or transfer.

The State believes you’ll waste less time and actually finish a certificate, degree, or transfer by making you to have a written plan.  An added incentive to graduate is the State’s new 100 unit cap before you lose your hard earned registration priority.

I can't wait to have all those happy students coming to see me.
